About Sammie

My path was not a straight line.

I grew up on food stamps. My career eventually took me through law enforcement, higher education leadership, and B2B tech sales. At 47, I started over in an industry where much of what I had done before did not translate neatly on paper.

At 38, I made a career move that cut my income roughly in half. I had to ask my mother and two of my closest friends for help covering groceries and bills while I found my way back. I followed the promise of more money and stopped paying attention to what I was actually good at.

I’ve since closed seven figures in B2B tech deals.

One reason I made that move was the chance to work remotely. It allowed me to be with my dog Atia for the final six weeks of her life. That experience made me pay closer attention to the life a job makes possible, not only the salary and title.

I built the Decision Prep Tool and Decision Sprint to help people look at the evidence, test the fit, and think through what a decision will mean after the offer is signed.
